Lake McConaughy

We took a spontaneous camping trip this week to Nebraska's largest lake. It's only a 2 hour drive so we left after Rob got home from work. The forecast was clear, but it did rain at night. We had to quickly put the rain fly on in the middle of the night when the rain started.


Unfortunately the beach was pretty flooded. Cora wanted to jump in anyway, but it was a little too mucky for me to let her swim.

We did make some delicious s'mores with cookies. I thought it would be less messy than graham crackers and chocolate, but it was still pretty messy. Mmmmm... s'mores.... Finn had a good time and didn't really cry much at all the whole time we were there. He spent a lot of the day sitting in this camping chair.

Rob did a little fishing with his Father's Day present, but we didn't catch anything. We saw some Rainbow Trout jumping in the water, but they just weren't biting.

The campground had a nice little playground that Cora enjoyed.
