My parents came through Nebraska and stopped at our house for a couple of days. They were here for my birthday too. We decided to finally try out Rob's father's day present, the fire bowl. For weeks we had temperatures in the 100s every day. We even got to 115, which is insanely hot (hotter than Death Valley that day, and the hottest spot in the US also). I lived in Tucson, AZ when I was little and it never got that hot.

Cora was pretty good at not burning marshmallows, and with a little help she got them a nice toasty brown. Finn, on the other hand, is an expert at catching marshmallows on fire, which is pretty scary. We only let him make one, and you can see it black as coal in this picture.
And also, s'mores are messy. They get in your hair...
and all over your face, but they are still fun.
